Comments:
Although
all of the Zenith 232 tombstones are referred to as a " Walton",
this is the true model that appeared on the television series. It should
be
noted that the original prop radio was indeed a Frankenstein version with
a
number of modifications, including incorrect knobs and fake turning eye.
The
7J232 is a "farm radio", which is powered by a battery, not
house current.
The J model "Walton" can be converted to house current for everyday
use or
kept in their original electronic configuation for the "hardcore
purest"
and powered by a battery.

" ...the actual prop radio used on the TV show, on loan from the
Smithsonian
to the Waltons Mountain Museum in Virginia."
This
7-tube Zenith "Walton" tombstone is in very nice original condition.
It is
now looking for a new owner and an electronic restoration. I have thoroughly
cleaned this radio inside and out and it displays extremely well. I would
be hard
pressed to refinish the cabinet, it looks so good the way it is. The shutter
dial
is mechanically fine, and the dial shutters are near perfect. If you are
interested in
a fine Walton,contact me.
