Comments:
I think
novelty radios are a good way to insert a little humor into this
otherwise serious hobby. People that visit with me in my showroom become
immediately attracted to my novelty radios, which include this Trophy
Baseball,
a Trophy Bowling Ball, a Pepsi Bottle and a Gridiron Football. Beside
their universal
appeal, the better novelty radios have become most desirable and expensive.
Value of this novelty ranges between $750-1,200. depending
on condition. Condition
can vary widely with this radio because of the cardbard cabinet. If
you are planning to
buy
one, give very special attention to the cabinet's integrity.
Several
years ago, I was the runner-up bidder on an Ebay auction for a NOS/In-the-Box
Trophy Baseball. My bid of $3,750 was trumped by the
winning bid of $3800!!
