This
site is designed primarily as a reference source for vintage radios.
Careful attention is given to the preparation of the photograhic
images for accurate representation of color and other radio details.
Each radio featured has a detailed description with antidotal comments.
If you have other useful information relating to any radio contained
in this site, I would appreciate your contribution.
I have also included a vintage radio For Sale
section. Over the last three years, I have sucessfully sold several
hundred vintage radios on Ebay under the ID# bill320sl and most
recently,oldradiocrazy.
Now, I look forward to selling vintage radios through this site
as well.
About the Collection
The
central focus of my vintage radio collection is high-end wood radios
from the 1930s-1940s. You will quickly see that I have a particular
interest in Zenith and Emerson "Ingraham cabinet" models.
However, like most collectors, I occasionally deviate from my main
focus and buy some bakelites or that special German radio. To maintain
a high quality collection, I give special attention to aquiring
very desirable pieces that, for the most part, are complete and
in excellent condition. I have a good sized radio display area,
but space is always at a premium and each new radio must earn its
spot!
An
exciting feature of this web site is the vintage
radios for sale. These are top quality radios from my collection
and the other radio collectors that exhibit radios on this site.
There are plenty of excellent pictures to examine, and the descriptions
are completely accurate and detailed. Visit the
For Sale section often to view the new offerings as they become
available.
About Zenith Parts
For Sale
In
addition to offering vintage radios for sale, I have also included
a Zenith parts offering in the For Sale
section. For the convenience of radio collectors looking for fine
quality vintage parts to complete their Zenith projects, this section
is a source of those hard to locate original parts. So, take a look
and see if there is something you need.
About Other Collectors
It
has truly been a great experience to meet and work with other vintage
radio collectors across the country and internationally. My network
of these collector friends is the real reason I am so entusiasic
about this hobby. We are constantly in contact, sharing information
on various models and discussing future statergies for the advancement
of our respective collections. It is for this reason I have decided
to dedicate a segment of this web site to the collections of these
friends. Please click on the "Other
Collectors" navigation button, and tour
these collections. You will see some amazing radios, even some for
sale.

Impressive Catalin Radio Collection
One
of the many pleasures of vintage radio collecting is to share information
and photographs of your radios with other collectors. I am an amatuer
photographer at best. I find that although it is important to have
a good digital camera, the quality of production photography is
dependent on a good light source and a simple background. Natural
(Sunlight) is the ultimate light source for picture taking, but
in its absence, a combination of direct and diffused halogen lighting
will go a long way to produce a excellent photographic outcome.
Presented below is the photography equipment used to take the pictures
for this web site.
